Editing a dataset
To edit a dataset, proceed as follows:
- In the Dataset management module, select the dataset that you want to edit.
- The Dataset information dialog will then open.
- The changes to the dataset have to be refreshed before you can use it for reports. A message relating to this will be displayed in the dialog. It is only possible to continue editing the data when the refreshing is completed.
- Edit the data in the fields Display name, Description and Comment, if required.
- Select the button next to the field Update dataset file to upload a new or changed CSV file with the table information of the dataset.
Due to the structure of the CSV file, it will be necessary to consider implementing some restrictions.
- In the Custom relationship section, there is an option to set a relationship to other data tables defined in the system.
In order to use the global filters Server and Date for the newly created custom reports, the relationship to the respective standard tables must be set.
1. Select the **Set relationship** button.
1. In the **From column** dropdown menu, select a column of your uploaded CSV file, from which you want to set the relationship.
1. In the **To table** and **To column** dropdown menus, select a table and a column of another data table that already is configured in the system.
1. Depending on the tables' data structure, the connection between the selected columns can be set. In the **Relationship type** dropdown menu, you can select the values **One to one**, **One to many**, **Many to one** and **Many to many**.
For example: Many to one would be if multiple components are created on a server and you want to set a relationship to the central server table ‘DIM_OCTOPLANT_SERVER’. For this case, you have to choose: Many (your CSV file, column SERVER_ID) to One (DIM_OCTOPLANT_SERVER, column SERVER_ID).
1. Save the changes.
The changes to the dataset have to be refreshed before you can use it for reports. A message about it is displayed in the dialog.
You can only use the dataset in the reports when the refresh process has been completed.
