KB-126841: Restoring a previous version of a program

Restoring a previous version of a program

To revert back to a previous version of a compiled file running on the CLX device, proceed as follows:

  1. In the UserClient select the RSLogix 5000 component that you want.
  2. Check-out the version that you want to restore:

Note

Using the comparison function, you can find out if the compiled version running on the device is the same as the one saved on the octoplant server or in the working directory. 1. Select the version that you want to revert back to. 1. Right-click on the version then select Copy version. 1. Copy the version into your working directory or an empty directory.

Note

When you copy and place the version into your working directory, you will be asked if you want to Overwrite content or Cancel. If you select Overwrite content, you will loose the _BAK???.acd files (the backups produced by RSLogix for every file revision). This will not however pose an issue as octoplant saves this data in the same format as the previous version of the project.

  1. Open the project in RSLogix 5000 by right-clicking on Open with editor.
  2. Download the project using the RSLogix 5000 software onto the device:

For more information regarding this process, please refer to this step in the CLX machine documentation or the RSLogix 5000 Professional Edition and Logix Designer.

1. Go to **Communications**.
1. Select **Download**.
