Integrating projects
To create versions of Rockwell FactoryTalk View, a project or backup of the device program is always required.
Integrating existing projects
- In the UserClient, create a New component. Select the component type Factory Talk View, in the Rockwell directory.
- In Windows Explorer, go to the folder where the APA archive is saved.
- Move the data into the component’s working directory.

Drag-and- drop the project data onto the component in the Project tree
- In the Project tree of the UserClient, select the FactoryTalk view component and click on Create base version and Check-In.
The data of your FactoryTalk View project is now integrated into octoplant and can be managed by octoplant.
Integrating new projects
- In the UserClient, create a New component. Select the component type Factory Talk View, in the Rockwell directory.
- Open the FactoryTalk View Studio. Create a new project. After editing your project, close it.
- Open yourUserClient and copy the project as an APA file into the working directory of your octoplant project.
- Select the FactoryTalk View component and click on Create base version and Check-In.
