Requirements for creating an upload job and carrying out version and backup comparisons
- It is only possible to carry out upload jobs and version and backup comparisons from TIAÂ Portal V13 SP1onwards.
TIAÂ Portal needs to be installed on the same computer as the octoplant server. Â Alternatively, you can use an agent that can connect to the computer running TIAÂ Portal. Ensure that:
- All necessary TIAÂ Portal project modules and Step7 Pro are installed.
- All installed TIAÂ Portal components are licensed.
- The installed TIAÂ Portal version is identical to the one with which the project was produced.
- TIA Portal Openness needs to be installed for each TIA version. For more information on how to install TIA Portal Openness, see “TIA Portal Openness: Introduction and Demo Application, TIA Portal V13 SP1” section 5.1.
- The user account that executes either the MasterService or the applications VDog CompareAgent and VDog UploadAgent must have local administrator rights. This user account needs to be a member of the group Siemens TIAÂ Portal Openness
- In order to carry out an upload for password protected projects and controllers you are required to have installed TIA Portal Version 15.1 or later.
- The project language of the project on the octoplant server and on the PLC must match. If it differs, neither the software upload nor the station upload will be successful.
