Receiving Check-In and Check-Out information via email
When customizing or creating a new component type, you can specify that selected users or groups receive an email when a component of that component type is checked in or out.
- In Component type library, select the component type you want or create a new one.
- In the section General, check the checkboxComponent-specific email for Check-In or Check-Out.
- Click on Settings to change further settings.

The dialog Mail settings on Check-In / Check-Out will open.

In the section Send mail on, select if you want the email to be sent for Check-In or Check-Out.
- If you have selected Check-Out, a dropdown menu is also activated in which you can specify whether the email should always be sent when a component of this component type is checked out. Or only when this component is currently locked or being edited.
- In the section Groups, select the users and user groups for who you want to activate this option.
- Users, who are not octoplant users, need to be entered in the field Additional email addresses. Separate multiple email addresses using commas.
- Confirm by clicking on OK.
Note
Alternatively, you can select email notification on Check-In and Check-Out for each component. However, if the settings for the component differ from those for the corresponding component type, the component-specific properties will apply.
