Integrating projects
Note
If TIA Portal is supported by your octoplant server, you can integrate all existing TIA Portal
projects.
Integrating existing TIA Portal projects
- Open the UserClient and create a new component. Use the component type Siemens->TIAÂ Portal.
- In Windows Explorer, go to the folder where your TIA Portal project is stored (for example,
<Project_name>
.ap15_1,<Projectname>
.al15_1, …). - Move the project data into the working directory of the component.
Note
To do this, drag and drop the project data onto the component in the Project tree.
- In the Project tree of the UserClient, select the TIA Portal component and click on Create base version and Check-In.
Your TIA Portal project is now integrated and can be managed within octoplant.
Creating a new TIAÂ Portal project
- Open the UserClient and create a new component. Use the component type Siemens->TIAÂ Portal.
- Open your TIAÂ Portal editor.
- Create a new project and save it in the TIAÂ Portal component that you just created.
- Return to the TIA Portal component in the UserClient and click on Create base version and Check-In.
The new TIA Portal project now has been integrated and can be managed within octoplant.
Note
For projects with H-CPUs, no comparator configuration can be made in octoplant and they cannot be
selected during job configuration. If TIA Portal is installed on the device on which the comparator or job configuration is made, it is possible to read out the project information directly using TIA Portal.
To do this, add the following entry to theCompare/AgentStation.ini
file:
[TIAPortal]
NativeDevEq=Y
Note that this can lead to longer loading times for the comparison or job configuration.
Comparing blocks with activated Know-how protection
When comparing password-protected blocks, differences will be detected. These will however not be shown in detail.
Note
The component type TIA Portal can be modified to suit your individual needs. For more information, see the Component
type editor section, located in the AdminClient tutorial.
