Defining file operations

In the section Define actions for files, you can determine whether the content of archives should be unzipped before a comparison of the selected component. This is located in the Component type editor. This step can be necessary if project files are present in the archives.

1. Click on a cell and enter the desired value in the column Specification. You also have the option to use the wildcard_(example:.zip) for file types.Or thirdly, you can also enter file names directly (example: info.zip).When splitting file names, you have the option to use the wildcard_for several characters and the wildcard ? for one character (e.g.__info???.zip).
2. In the columns Action, Condition and Subdirectories, drop-down menus are activated.
3. In the drop-down menu Action, the only possible value Extract has been pre-selected.
4. In the drop-down menu Condition, you can select whether files of this type are always to be extracted before a comparison or if only when comparing backups, a server version and a back up or when comparing two versions.
5. In the drop-down menu Subdirectories, you can select whether you want existing subdirectories to be unzipped as well.
