Editing roles
To edit a role, proceed as follows:
- Select the icon, located at the top right-hand corner of the octoplant pro hub.
- A dropdown menu will then appear.
- Select Role management.
- Select the role that you wish to edit.
- The Role information dialog will then open.
- Edit the Role name, Description and Comment, when required.
- There are also additional settings you can configure for a role. These include:
- Role preference: Displays the Administrator checkbox used to determine whether a role includes administrator privileges.
- Resources: Used to include various Servers and Reports that have been included in the octoplant pro hub. At least one resource is required.
- Reports: Displays the checkboxes Edit and Monitoring Center, which can be used to determine whether users with this role can edit reports and/or can access the Monitoring Center.
- System configuration:Â Used to specify a role’s View and Edit permissions for User management, Role management, Server management, and Dataset management.
- Select Save.
- The role has now been updated.
For security reasons, the octoplant pro hub does not allow users to edit their own roles. If a user attempts to change their own role, an error message will appear.
