Editing roles

To edit a role, proceed as follows:

  1. Select the Settings.png icon, located at the top right-hand corner of the octoplant pro hub.
  2. A dropdown menu will then appear.
  3. Select Role management.
  4. Select the role that you wish to edit.
  5. The Role information dialog will then open.
  6. Edit the Role name, Description and Comment, when required.
  7. There are also additional settings you can configure for a role. These include:
    1. Role preference: Displays the Administrator checkbox used to determine whether a role includes administrator privileges.
    2. Resources: Used to include various Servers and Reports that have been included in the octoplant pro hub. At least one resource is required.
    3. Reports: Displays the checkboxes Edit and Monitoring Center, which can be used to determine whether users with this role can edit reports and/or can access the Monitoring Center.
    4. System configuration: Used to specify a role’s View and Edit permissions for User management, Role management, Server management, and Dataset management.
  8. Select Save.
  9. The role has now been updated.

Icon_error.png For security reasons, the octoplant pro hub does not allow users to edit their own roles. If a user attempts to change their own role, an error message will appear.
