Updating client applications
As soon as you start a client that has an earlier octoplant version than the server, the message Update octoplant will be displayed. By clicking on Yes on this message, the update will then start for the client applications. This function is called a SmartUpdate.
Requirements for SmartUpdate
The Windows user running SmartUpdate requires the following rights:
- Full access rights to the server archive
- Write access to the octoplant client applications installation directory
Alternatively, clients can be updated manually via the fileSetup.exe, via a script or MSI package

The MSI package is subject to a charge and is available from us as a service on request. Contact your AUVESY-MDT contact person for this purpose.
