Managing tags

By checking the Manage checkbox, the Manage tags window will open. Here, you can create, edit and export tags into a CSV file.

Creating tags

  1. Click on Manage… .
  2. The Manage tags dialog will then open.
  3. Click on Create tag (left).
  4. Give the tag a name and add a comment (right) .
  5. Each tag name may only appear once in the server archive.
  6. Confirm the input by clicking on Save.

Editing tags

You can edit the name of the tag at a later point in time. You can also add a comment to the tag. Proceed as follows:

  1. Click on Manage… .
  2. The Manage tags dialog will then open.
  3. Select the tag you want to edit from the list on the left side of the window.
  4. Make the desired changes on the right side of the window.

Unsaved changes can be discarded in the dropdown menu Tags (left above the list) by clicking on Discard changes to all or Discard changes to selected.

  1. Click on save.

Deleting tags

  1. Click on Manage… .
  2. The Manage tags dialog will then open.
  3. Select the tag you want to delete from the list on the left and then click on Delete selected tags in the context menu.
  4. Confirm this by clicking on Yes.

Note

If a tag is removed from all versions it was added to, a dialog will be displayed, in which the tag can be directly deleted.

Exporting tags

Tags can be exported to a CSV file. This file contains information about the tag (name, ID, point in time when the tag was last modified, etc.) and about the version to which the tag has been added to (name, ID, path, version number). Proceed as follows:

  1. Click on Manage….
  2. The Manage tags dialog will then open.
  3. Open the context menu on the left in the list.
  4. Click on Export all… or Export selected….
  5. Select a folder in which to save the file and give the CSV file a name. Then click on Save.

Note

Each tag ID is uniquely assigned to exactly one tag in the server archive.
