Requirements

The requirements listed here are shown as an example for an S7-1500 controller from TIA V15 and FW2.5.
- A license for OPC UA needs to be available.
- The OPC UA server needs to have been activated.
- To restrict access to the OPC UA server, a user with appropriate rights to the variables should be created.
- A program block must be created in which the variables are defined.
- Variables must be defined that are provided via the OPC interface.
- Command variable (trigger variable) of data type Int16: The variable must be readable by the octoplant server.
- Status variable (variable for acknowledgement) of data type Int16: the variable must be writeable by the octoplant server.
- Access to the variables via OPC UA needs to be possible. For example, you can check the connection to the OPC UA server using a freely available OPC client.
