KB-127074: Creating jobs

Creating jobs

In order to perform uploads and comparison processes, octoplant must be able to access MELSOFT GX Works. We recommend to install that software on the same computer as the server.

If this is not possible, you need Upload and Compare Agents to allow octoplant access to the computer where MELSOFT GX Works is installed. These agents need to be installed before creating the jobs.

Configuring a Mitsubishi MELSOFT GX Works job:

  1. Start the AdminClient and open the Jobs module.
  2. In the Project tree, select MELSOFT GX Works component.
  3. In the menu tab, select Create or drag and drop the components into the Jobs section.
  4. Check in the section Job configuration, if the upload type Mitsubishi GX Works is being displayed.
  5. Make sure the desired settings are in place for the following sections: General, Notification, Upload and compare, and Create a version automatically after job run. The Notification and Create a version automatically after job run sections are only displayed if the necessary settings have been implemented.
  6. In Upload and Compare, set the Compare policy to Server version <-> Backup.
  7. If you are working with agents, they must be configured in this section.
  8. In Mitsubishi GX Works settings, configure the following:
    1. In Project, select the MELSFOT GX Works project for which you want to run the job.
    2. Under PLC password and Remote password, enter the passwords for a password-protected device or for a password-protected remote connection to the device.

Note

The respective communication parameters are taken from the offline project.
