KB-127078: Creating project structures

Creating project structures

zenon projects can be independent of each other. Example: the Global project makes its entire contents all projects in workspace available. Integration projects and sub-projects can share elements and exchange data in the runtime.

To make the connection between zenon projects visible in octoplant, you need to incorporate the project structure from the zenon editor as the file structure in octoplant.

Proceed as follows:

  1. Start the AdminClient.
  2. Go to Global Settings -> Components and then activate Allow mixed directory structures (project in project). Using this setting, you can create additional subdirectories in already existing directories.

Tips for setting up the folder structure

In order to better integrate project type styles, the following folder structure in octoplant is provided.

Path:..Globalproject <appropriate sub-project>

Example

In zenon In octoplant

Advantages to the folder structure

  • Overview and management of project structure. For example, entire workspace possible.
  • Possibility to save other component types and sort them out logically (for example, machine documentation).
