Integrating existing S7 Multiprojects
If your octoplant system supports S7 Multiprojects you can integrate existing S7 Multiprojects used in programmable logic controllers of the SIMATIC S7 series V5.1 up to V5.6 and with the process control system SIMATIC PCS 7 V5 up to V9.
There are different ways to integrate an S7 Multiproject into octoplant. The following examples shows how to integrate existing S7 Multiprojects in two ways:
- Integrating existing S7 Multiprojects into octoplant via the client archive
- Integrating existing S7 Multiprojects into octoplant directly
octoplant and S7 Multiprojects
Usually more than one S7 Multiproject is stored in octoplant. It is recommended to create a separate directory for every S7 Multiproject. This simplifies management of the S7 Multiprojects.
It is also recommended to divide the content of an S7 Multiproject into separate components. The S7 Multiproject itself is stored in a component, every S7 project contained in the S7 Multiproject is stored in a separate component and every library linked to the S7 Multiproject is also stored in a separate component. If an S7 project contains elements, such as a WinCC project or a WinCC flexible project, these elements will be stored in the component of the S7 project.
If the content of an S7 Multiproject are divided among multiple components, you can check-out individual components of an S7 Multiproject to make changes. After you edited the component you can also version them individually with the edited content.
