Configuring a comparison

When comparing the current data from backups with the previous backup, it is important to note if any changes have been made. You will see if the program running on the PLC has been changed or not. The current values (such as the amount of produced, motor temperature, etc.) need to be excluded from the comparison to ensure that only program changes are recorded.

Excluding current values from the comparison:

1. Start the AdminClient.
2. Go to Jobs.
3. Select the component whose current values you want to exclude from the job.
4. Select the job that you want to edit.
5. Activate the option Enable configuration of job-specific compare.
6. Click on Comparison configuration.
7. Select the RSLogix 5000 project.
8. When excluding a routine, enter first of all your name into the routine field and select whether you also want to exclude or include your subfolder from the comparison.
9. Enter the name of the variable, whose current values you want to be excluded from the comparison.
10. By default, trends are excluded. If you do not want these to be excluded, clear the checkbox.

12. Save the changes to the job.
