KB-127267: Creating jobs

Creating jobs

Requirements

  • You need to know the device type of your SINUMERIK 840D controller: SINUMERIK840D Solutionline or SINUMERIK 840D Powerline.
  • You need to know the connection paths in your system in order to be able to select the access path in the AdminClient in the Job configuration. For more information, see Supported connection paths.

Archives that are saved during a backup of SINUMERIK 840D powerline

File Explanation Optional
* *<Projectname>.ARC** SIBN file (series commissioning file N
PLC.ARC PLC series startup fil Ye

Note

Job-specific compensation data can be contained in the .ARC. The compensation data reside in the AX_QEC.INI, AX_EEC.INI and NC_CEC.INI files.

Archives that are saved during a backup of the SINUMERIK840D solutionline:

File Explanation Optional
NC.ARC SIBN file (series commissioning file N
DP.ARC PROFIBUS drive Ye
CC.ARC Loadable compile cycle Ye
.ARC PLC PLC hardware upgrad Ye
PLC.ARC PLC series startup fil Ye

or, based on the job configuration:

File Explanation Optional
NC.ARC Series startup file + PROFIBUS drives + Loadable compile cycle N
PLCSDB.ARC PLC hardware upgrad Ye
PLC.ARC PLC series startup fil Ye

Note

Job-specific compensation data can be contained in the NC.ARC. The compensation data reside in the AX_QEC.INI,

AX_EEC.INI and NC_CEC.INIfiles. Even if you want to have NC.ARC, DP.ARC, CC.ARC and PLCSDB.ARC separate on a file level, they will be sorted logically in octoplant’s compare display according to NC.ARC.

The series startup file (SIBN) of the PLC is created based on the Job configuration, but it is not taken into account during a comparison. The comparison can only be made via a S7 job in your S7 project.

Creating jobs for Sinumerik 840D HMI Advanced

  1. Start the AdminClient.
  2. Go to the module, Jobs.
  3. In the project tree, select a SINUMERIK component.
  4. Click on Jobs-> Create job.

  1. In Job configuration, configure the sections General and Upload and compare.
  2. Check the Enable configuration of job-specific compare checkbox to exclude files and variables from the comparison or check their presence. You can thereby adjust the comparison of NC.ARC, DP.ARC and CC.ARC files.

Note

For the NC.ARC file, configure the exclusion of the NCINITIAL.INI file to avoid the changes due to the actual values when comparing. The file exclusion can be done in two ways: 1. Complete exclusion of the NCINITIAL.INI or 2. Exclusion of individual parts of the INITIAL.INI, for example $MA_ACT and/or $MN_POVCTRL.

  1. If you are working with an empty SINUMERIK component for which there is no base version, go to the Compare policy -> Backup <-> previous backupin Upload and compare. For more information, see Creating a new SINUMERIK project.

Section SINUMERIK 840D settings

In Project, select the NC archive that you want the job to save.

In Device type, select either Solution Line or Powerline.

In Access path, configure the way you want octoplant to communicate with the SINUMERIK device. The section Access path details changes according to the selected access path.

From this point onwards, configuration varies depending on the type of device SINUMERIK 840D Solutionline and SINUMERIK 840D Powerline.

Section Backup for SINUMERIK 840D solutionline

Requirement: You must have created the job by this point.

  1. Check Create SIBN file for SPS to ensure that SPS files are also saved in the SIBN archive. !!! note We recommend that you always save both the compensation data and the NC files. If collision model data is present on the controller’s flash card, this data and the NC data should both be saved.

  2. Enable the option With compensation data if you want to save this data as well.

  3. In Contents of the backup, you have three options to save online and offline data.
    1. Online data only indicates that only controller data is saved. No backup is created when files are accessed by the SINUMERIK control.
    2. The option Merge online and offline data shows that: When the controller accesses the file, this data is copied from the version (offline data) to the backup. The backup does not 100% consist of controller data.
    3. The option Merge if conditions are not met means: If the checkbox Create backup only if the following conditions are met has been checked and the criteria below has not been fulfilled, the data from the version (offline data) is copied to the backup.
  4. The checkbox Create backup only if the following conditions are met is selected by default and fulfils two conditions. 1. Condition 1: All channels in ‘Reset’: if not all channels are in Reset at the controller, the job outputs the error message that not all channels are in reset.
    1. Under Condition 2: Tools in spindle: choose either with or without tool in spindle. No tool in spindle, Tool in spindle allowed if alarm is silenced, Ignore tool in spindle.
  5. In the section Additional, you can enable SIMATIC NET if this was installed on a gateway and you want to use it.
  6. Save the job and execute it.

Section Backup for SINUMERIK 840D powerline**

  1. Activate Create SIBN file for SPS to ensure that SPS files are also saved in the SIBN archive.
  2. Enable the option With compensation data if you want to save this data as well.
  3. In Contents of the backup, you have three options to save online and offline data:
    1. Online data indicates that only controller data is saved. If the SINUMERIK control system accesses the file, the backup will fail.
    2. The option Merge online and offline data shows that: When the controller accesses the file, this data is copied from the version (offline data) to the backup. The backup does not 100% consist of controller data.
    3. The option Merge if conditions are not met means: If the checkbox Create backup only if the following conditions are met has been selected and the criteria below has not been fulfilled, the data from the version (offline data) is copied to the backup.
  4. The checkbox Create backup only if the following conditions are met is checked by default and fulfils two conditions:
    1. Condition 1: All channels in ‘Reset’: If not all channels are in Reset at the controller, the job outputs the error message that not all channels are in reset.
    2. Under Condition 2: Tools in spindle choose either with or without tool in the spindle: No tool in spindle, Tool in spindle allowed if alarm is silenced, Ignore tool in spindle.
  5. In the section Additional, you can enable SIMATIC NET if this was installed on a gateway and you want to use it.
  6. Save the Job and execute it.

Warning

To prevent an emergency stop or damage to the machine, do not select these three options together:

  • The Contents of the backup contains Only online data.
  • The checkbox Create backup only if the following conditions are met is checked by default.
  • In Requirement 2: Tool in spindle, the option Tool in spindle allowed if alarm is suppressed is checked and the alarm 22070 has not been suppressed. (The complete alarm test is: Alarm 22070 TO unit %1 Please change tool T= %2 into magazine. Repeat data backup).

To create a disaster recovery capable backup, set the following options

  • In Contents of the backup, select Online data only.
  • Check the checkbox Create backup only if the following conditions are met.
  • Check the checkbox Condition 1: All channels in Reset. And all channels have been reset.
  • In Condition 2: Tool in Spindle, select No tool in spindle. And there is no tool in the spindle.

Creating additional jobs

Creating a job for PLC S7 project

If an S7 project exists, you can additionally create a SimaticS7 job. (Create a version of the S7 project in octoplant before you save it.) The same upload path will be used as was for Sinumerik 840D.

Create job for the DH directory of the PCU (partition F:)

Save the PCU DH directory on partitionF:...by creating a UNC Job that has access to the SINUMERIK 840D NC directory.
