Creating jobs
In order to perform uploads and comparison processes, octoplant must be able to access MELSOFT GX Works. We recommend to install that software on the same computer as the server.
If this is not possible, you need Upload & Compare Agents to allow octoplant access to the computer where MELSOFT GX Works is installed. These agents need to be installed before creating the jobs.
Creating jobs for Mitsubishi MELSOFT GX Works devices
- Start the AdminClient and open the Jobs module.
- In the Project tree, select MELSOFT GX Works component.
- In the menu tab, click on Create or drag and drop the components into the Jobs section.
- Check in the section Job configuration, if the upload type Mitsubishi GX Works is being displayed.
- Make sure the desired settings are in place for the following sections: General, Notification, Upload and compare, and Create a version automatically after job run. The Notification and Create a version automatically after job run sections are only displayed if the necessary settings have been implemented.
- In Upload and Compare, set the Compare policy to Server version <-> Backup.
- If you are working with agents (because your octoplant server and the MELSOFT GX Works software are not installed on the same computer), they must be configured here. (The agents must already be installed.)
- In Mitsubishi GX Works Settings, select your MELSOFT GX Works project for which the job is to be executed in the Project dropdown menu if you have several projects.
Note
The files of the backup cannot be used for disaster recovery.
Note
The respective communication parameters are taken from the offline project.
