Integrating projects
If you have existing RSLogix 5 projects, you have the option to integrate these projects into octoplant. To do so, proceed as follows:

Create a RSLogix5 component, which you will find in the Rockwell folder. !!! note The path is not allowed to contain any special characters. RSLogix only permits the usage of alphanumeric characters.

Right-click on the selected component and then choose Edit in the context menu or press Ctrl+E.
- Copy the RSP file into the directory that you opened in step 2. RSP is the file ending that is used by RSLogix 5.
- In octoplant, open the file in your editor by pressing F4 or right-clicking on Open with editor or click in the ribbon on Open with editor.
- The RSLogix 5 editor will open. When you make changes, save your data and then close the editor.
- **Click on Create and Check-In the base version**.
You can now manage your RSLogix 5 project in octoplant.
Creating new RSLogix 5 projects

Open the UserClient and create a new component for the RSLogix 5 project. Choose the component type RSLogix5in the folder Rockwell. !!! note The path is not allowed to contain any special characters. RSLogix only permits the usage of alphanumeric characters.

Start the RSLogix 5 Professional Edition editor.

Create a new project in RSLogix 5 Professional Edition (File -> New, etc.) and save it. !!! note Make sure that you save the project in your RSLogix working directory.

Close the RSLogix 5 Professional Edition editor.
- Click on Create and Check-In the base version.
Your new project can now be managed by octoplant and you can start RSLogix 5 Pro using octoplant directly by pressing F4, right-clicking on the component and then selecting Open with editor. Alternatively, click on Open with editor located in the ribbon.
