Creating jobs
Requirements
- To execute jobs, the outgoing and incoming ports for the server, the switch and all network devices between must be specified, so that the firewall does not block communication. The default protocols are: SSH and TFTP. In Job configuration, it is possible to specify and change the port for the communication protocol.
- If you want to backup more than one switch at a time, you will have to set a different TFTP port for each switch and (in the AdminClient under INI files) increase the maximum number of parallel uploads.
To create jobs for Allen-Bradley Stratix switches
- Open the AdminClientand go to the Jobsmodule.
- In the Project tree, select the Allen-Bradley Stratixcomponent.
- In the ribbon, click on Createor drag-and-drop the component into the Jobssection.
- In the Job configuration section, check whether the upload type Switches is displayed
- Configure the sections: General, Notification, Upload and compare, Create a version automatically after job run. The sections Notificationand Create a version automatically after job run are only displayed if the requisite settings have been carried out. In Upload and compare set the Compare policy to Backup <-> Previous backup, if no project data in the components was versioned.
- Configure the section, Switches settings. 1. In Device, enter the IP address or name of the device. 1. In User, enter the domain, user or computer name. 1. In Password, enter the password of the corresponding user. 1. Set the Type to Stratix. 1. Enter the Port that you want to facilitate communication to the device.
Note
- The standard port for SSH is 22.
- Save and execute the job.
