Deleting on the server
Warning
Please note that it is not possible to recover anything that has been deleted from the server.
If you want to delete directories, components or individual versions on the server, there are several options at your disposal.
Deleting directories or components
- In the Project tree, select a directory or component that you want to delete from the server.
- On the tab Extras, click on the ribbon item Delete element on the server.
- The dialog Delete directory on the server or Delete component on the server will then appear.
- Here, you can select if you want to also delete the directory’s components locally and if so, if you also want to also delete the component’s working directory.
Warning
- Even if you want keep the component locally and only delete it on the server, you will no longer be able to check it
in again. 1. Confirm your choice by clicking on Delete.
The directory or the component will now be deleted on the server.
Deleting individual versions from components
Note
This functionality is only available if the checkbox Enable “Delete version on server” in the module **Global
Settings has been activated with corresponding access rights. This can be found under components in Global settings in theAdminClient**.
- In the project tree, select a component of which there are multiple versions of.
Note
- The base version and the newest version of a component cannot be deleted.
- In the section change history, select the version of the component that you want to delete.
- On the tab Extras, click on the ribbon item Delete version on the server.
- The dialog Delete version on the server or will then appear.
- Here, your select version will be displayed again. Here, enter a comment as to why you are deleting this version on the server.
Warning
- Versions that have been deleted on the server, can no longer be restored using the Copy version function.
- Confirm your choice by clicking on Delete.
The selected version will now be deleted on the server.
