KB-127472: Open projects via command line

Open projects via command line

You can open projects via command line without having to log into the UserClient.

To do this, create a batch file with the following data:

  • The relative path of the component: C:ProgrammeVDogClient.exe /at:c /rd:fvdClientArchive" /CPATH:Plant 1Hall 1Area 1 77"or the relative path of the component ID:C:ProgrammeVDogClient.exe /at:c /rd:fvdClientArchive /CID: F48ADE92F701419396364D9BA3ABBC15
  • and your login details octoplant: /account:{User} /domain:{Domain} /password:{Password}

Example:

C:ProgrammeVDogClient.exe /at:c /rd:fvdClientArchive" /CPATH:Plant 1Hall 1Area 1 77" /account:{user} /password:{password}

This will open the project in the UserClient. To edit the project, click on Open in editor.

In our company the projects from the vdServerArchive are listed on a web platform. Is it possible to edit these projects directly on this platform?

The projects can be edited via command line and via the UserClient. See the information in this tutorial for information on how to proceed.

Note

This procedure is only possible if your web-based platform allows you to start programs on your PC. Please refer to the

manufacturer’s documentation.
