Requirements for moving the server
Encryption is enabled by default. However, when moving versiondog 7.0 and 7.5 servers, problems may occur. We therefore recommend that you upgrade to the latest versiondog version prior to moving.
- The octoplant setup file is accessible.
- The user who performs the server move, or the user account through which the server move is performed, must have administrator rights on the server system and should also be entered as a user in the MasterService.
- It must be possible to execute files on the drive that is intended as a storage location for the server archive. The same applies to the drive that has been designated as the storage location for the client archive. Any security policies that prevent the execution of files must also be disabled. If it has not been permitted to execute files, an error message (SQLException) will be displayed later when logging into the system. Login will not be possible.
- The hardware and software requirements for installing octoplant need to have been met. If these requirements have not been met, the product cannot be installed properly.
- Please check that all required ports have been enabled.
- Editors required for backup and comparison on the server have been installed.
- A domain account has been created and given the following permissions:
- Administrator on the server system
- Full access to the program directory
- Full access to the server archive
- Full access to the remote directory (if a remote directory exists)
