Scanning QR codes
The MobileApp can be used to scan QR codes. The detail dialog of the report Factory Floor Status – Device overview will open in the MobileApp (provided the necessary configuration has been made).
To scan a QR code with the MobileApp, proceed as follows:
In the MobileApp, click on the menu button (left hand side) and select QR-Code Scanner. Scan the QR Code
-
If the QR code was entered in the configuration file, the detail dialog of the report **Factory Floor Status – Device overview will open in the MobileApp (provided the necessary configuration has been made). !!! note You will need to allow MobileApp access to the camera function on your phone
-
If the QR Code is not entered in the configuration file and you are logged in as an administrator, you will see a message. The message will ask if you want to make the QR Code known to octoplant.
- If the QR Code was entered in the configuration file for QR Codes, but has not been assigned to a device or to a path, a error will appear stating that There is no device configured for the QR XY code
A number of settings need to be included in the configuration file in order for octoplant to be able to process the information that it obtains from the QR Code.
The QR code that you wish to scan using the MobileApp does not need to fulfil any special requirements. Every company can generate their own QR codes and equip their machines with these QR codes at their discretion.
Note
QR codes can only be used with Factory Floor Status. The Factory Floor Status add-on is not part of the
octoplant system as standard. It is available at an extra cost and must be licensed.
