Exporting and importing component types

Component types can be exchanged between systems in the form of an JSON file. You can export all or individual component types from your system or import them into your system from another system.

Exporting component types

1. In the File tab, click on Export.
2. The dialog Component type export will open.
3. The section octoplantcomponent types contains the Component type library directory structure.
4. In the section Component types to export, the component types are displayed, which are going to be exported.
5. Use the button to transfer the component types you want to export to the section Component types to export.
6. To export all component types that are currently in the system, click on

9. Component types that you do not want to export after all can be removed using the buttons

14. Once you have made your configuration, click on Export.
15. The dialog Select export file will open. Here you can name the JSON file as you wish and then place it at the desired location in your file system.

Importing component types

1. In the File tab, click on Import.
2. The dialog Select import file will then open. Here you can select the JSON file with the component types in your file system that you want to import.
3. The dialog Component type import will open.
4. The section octoplant component types contains the Component type library project tree.
5. In the section Component types to import, the component types are displayed, which are going to be imported.
6. If you click on , the project tree will be displayed, where the component type is going to be imported. If this component type is already available in your system, this will be displayed with the symbol . Already existing component types will be overwritten by the import.
7. Click on Import.
8. Here, a notification will also be displayed when you try to import component types, which have the same name as the ones already present in your system. You can decide if you want to continue or cancel the procedure.
