KB-132668: Synchronizing jobs from the server onto the BackupClient

Synchronizing jobs from the server onto the BackupClient

Requirements

  • BackupClient and versiondog server can be connected to each other.
  • Jobs have been created in the AdminClient on the server that are to be executed using the BackupClient. In order to do this, the entry Using BackupClient needs to have been selected. This can be found in the job configuration under the dropdown menu Execute.

In order to transfer jobs from the server to the BackupClient, proceed as follows:

  1. Open the BackupClient and login to the server.
    1. Image: Login dialog, login to server
    2. The project tree shows all components for which jobs have been created for execution using BackupClient. All existing jobs of the selected components are displayed in the job table. Jobs that exist only on the server and not yet on the BackupClient are greyed out and have the status Does not exist on BackupClient.
  2. Select one or more jobs that you want to transfer from the server to the BackupClient.
  3. Click the Synchronize button in the ribbon.
  4. The synchronization will be carried out. A message box will tell you when the synchronization is completed.
  5. By using this job, the current version of the component, for which the job was created, is always synchronized from the server to the client.
  6. You can view details of the synchronization using the Show synchronization log button.

We recommend to synchronize jobs regularly in order to always have the BackupClient up to date. Changes made to existing jobs are applied on the BackupClientthrough synchronization.
