Activating the web server in AdminClient
Before you can start working with the WebClient, you will firstly need to activate the versiondogweb server.
Requirements
Note
The web server is run via the browser. The following browsers are supported:
- Mozilla Firefox (version 32.0.0 onwards)
- Google Chrome (version 37.0.0 onwards)
- Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 10 onwards)
Note
Other web browsers available on request!
No special hardware or software is required for using the web server. The normal hardware and software requirements for the versiondog system apply. The latest hardware and software requirements can be found in the tutorial Installation requirements.
Note
To establish a connection with versiondog MobileApp for iOs to the server, you need to have installed
an iOS accepted certificate on the web server.

Activating the web server
To enable the web server, proceed as follows:
- Open the AdminClient
- Enter your username and password
- Click on Global settingsThe Global settings window will appear
- In Global Settings, click on Web server in the left pane.

In the right plane of the Web server proceed as follows: – Check the checkbox enable Web server – Enter the ports (Default port for HTTP is 80, default port for HTTPS is 443; ports can be changed) !!! note HTTPSÂ communication uses a versiondog certificate. For details refer to launch Web server. – To add a versiondogserver, click on the button Add – Enter the display name (free choice) and the computer name. – Click on Save

If you only have one server, you can use the entry Local (local host). If you have more than one single server you can add these individually

Click on OK to save your settings and start the web server.
Note
In addition to this, you can also find Factory Floor Status reports in the web server. These come at an additional cost.
If you wish to use Factory Floor Status with a single versiondogserver only, you do not need to configure any additional settings in the versiondog system once you have purchased the license and activated the web server.
