KB-132698: Restrictions with regard to carrying out a station upload

Restrictions with regard to carrying out a station upload

  • Carrying out a station upload is normally possible for all S7-1500 PLCs, except for software controllers. For software controllers (that is to say, 1505S/HW 1515SP and 1507S / 1508S and their F variants) a station upload is not technically possible.
  • For 1500 series F controllers, the Enable consistent loading of F-CPU checkbox must checked in the F program beforehand, so that an upload is possible.
  • The dependencies for the project languages must be configured correctly before a station upload takes place (see Requirements for creating an upload job and carrying out version and backup comparisons).
  • When using F-HMI panels, F-Drives, SITOP devices, PACs*, a station upload can block the S7-1500 controllers.

  • You can only upload a SIMATIC PLC with a connected SENTRON device in SIMATIC STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V15.1 and V16 if you have placed the SENTRON device using GSD or GSDML. In this use case, do not create a version of the SENTRON project that was integrated in the TIA Portal. For more details, go to the Siemens website.
