_Universal: restoring documentation

You can use the version and backup compare capabilities of versiondog to find out if the document is the same as the most recent version on the server. If the job results show that changes have been made to the program on the device, then it is possible that unwanted changes have been made and a restore may be needed as a result.

In versiondog, there are two ways of performing a restore for documentation.

To carry out a restore using a version, proceed as follows

  1. Start the UserClient.
  2. Select the component of the project you wish to restore.
  3. Check-Out the version of the project that you want to restore.
  4. Open the project with the corresponding editor.

To carry out a restore from a backup, proceed as follows

  1. In the UserClient, select the requisite component.
  2. In Component details, go to Jobs and click on the job that you want to use to restore the backup.
  3. Select the backup by either right-clicking on it OR selecting it and then going to the ribbon and clicking on Copy backup to directory.
  4. Select the directory that you want to copy the backup to.
  5. Open the project with the corresponding editor.
