Updating parallel servers
Requirements for updating parallel servers
- All versiondog processes need to be closed.
- The data of the server archive in the local directory or on the remote share needs to be saved.
- The file Setup.exe must be executed on the server with administrator rights.
- The user account that is being used for the setup needs to have full access rights to the following directories:
- versiondog program directory
- Local server archive or remote server archive (if remote server archive present)
- The drive used for storing the server archive must allow files to run. There is a likelihood that existing antivirus software will need to be deactivated if they interfere with files being run.
- If the execution of files is not allowed, an error message (SQL exception) is displayed later when logging on to the system. A login is then not possible.
- There must be no more synchronization processes open.
- Proceed as follows:1. Start Windows Explorer and change to the directory
<Drive:>vdServerArchiveVD$ADataToDos
.The relevant XML files begin with 011. - Alternatively, you can see this on System Dashboard at AdminClient.
Proceed as follows
-

-

Setup.exe
on the first server and follow the instructions of the installation wizard. - Start the first server.
- Repeat steps 1-3 directly afterwards on your second server.
