Integrating projects

Integrating existing projects

To version Cognex In-Sight projects proceed as follows:

  1. Create a new component in the UserClient. Select In-Sight in the Cognex directory as the component type.
  2. In Windows Explorer, go to the folder in which the project’s JOB and SET files are saved.
  3. Copy the data into the component’s working directory.
  4. In the project tree of the UserClient, select the Cognex In-Sight component and then click on Create base version and Check-In.

Your Cognex In-Sight project data is now integrated and can be managed.

Saving Cognex In-Sight devices data without a project

If you have no access to the device and you want to save Cognex In-Sight device data, proceed as follows:

  1. Create a New component in the UserClient. Select In-Sight in the Cognex directory as the component type.
  2. Click on Check-In without base version.

You can now create jobs in the AdminClient that regularly save device data.

How to integrate new projects

  1. Create a new component in the UserClient. Select In-Sight in the Cognex directory as the component type.
  2. Open the In-Sight Explorer.
  3. Connect Cognex In-Sight to the device you want to use and then create a project by copying the files into the Cognex In-Sight component directory.
  4. Change over to the Cognex In-Sight component in the UserClient and click on Create base version and Check-In.

Your Cognex In-Sight project data is now integrated into versiondog and can be managed using versiondog.

Note

You can customize the In-Sight component type in the AdminClient, Component Type Editor module.
