Integrating existing projects

1. Open the UserClient and create a new component. Set your component type as Simatic S7 (which you will find in the Siemens -> SPS folder structure).
2. In Windows Explorer, go to the folder where your STEP 7 project is stored.
3. Copy the data into the component’s working directory. Drag and drop the project data onto the component in the project tree.
4. In the UserClient, select the Simatic S7 component and click on Create base version and Check-In.

Your SIMATIC STEP7 project is now integrated and can be managed by versiondog.

Creating new projects

1. Open the UserClient and create a new component. Set your component type as Simatic S7 (which you will find in the Siemens > SPS folder structure).
2. Start the Simatic Manager.
3. Create a new project and save it in the Simatic S7 component that you have just created.
4. In the UserClient, select the Simatic S7 component located in the project tree and click on Create base version and Check-In.

Your SIMATIC STEP7 project is now integrated and can be managed by versiondog.

Why does Archive creation using SIMATIC Manager fail?

Please check whether there are any blank spaces in the component name you wish to archive. If this is the case, there are two options:

• Remove the blank spaces from the component name.
• Create a subdirectory in the affected component without blank spaces.
