RSLogix 5000

versiondog supports the management of programmable logic controllers that operate using software such as RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000 Logix Designer, RsLinx Classic and FactoryTalk Linx from Rockwell Automation. versiondog enables the cyclical monitoring of devices for which projects have been created in this development environment.

  • When using firmware revision 32, it may not be possible to create a backup. Error messages may appear during job execution. This is a known behaviour. If you experience this, we recommend using a different revision of the firmware and running the job again.

Requirements

  • The software RSLogix 5000 (version 10.x or higher – STANDARD or PROFESSIONAL EDITION) or Studio 5000 Logix Designer (version 21 onward) needs to be run on the computer on which the versiondog server is running. If the software is running on another computer, you will require a versiondogAgent.
  • Either RSLinx Classic (version 3.51 or a later version) or FactoryTalk Linx (previously known as RSLinx Enterprise Edition) will need to be run on the computer on which the versiondog server is installed. If the software is running on another computer, you will require a versiondogAgent.
  • When upgrading FactoryTalk Linx, you will need to uninstall the RSLinx Classic software and enter the access path manually. This is located in Job configuration.
  • If you are using versiondog agents when carrying out a FactoryTalk Linx upgrade, you will need to be ensure that all agent related tasks are carried by an administrator.
