Integrating existing projects

To version Cognex DataMan Scanner projects, you need a project or a backup of the device program. Proceed as follows:

1. Create a new component in the UserClient. When using portable devices, select DataMan as the component type. For stationary devices, select DataMan Fixed-mount in the Cognex directory.
2. In Windows Explorer, go to the folder in which the project’s CFG and CDC files are saved.
3. Copy the data into the component’s working directory.
4. In UserClient, select the Cognex components in the project tree and select the button Create and Check-In the base version.

The data of your Cognex DataMan Scanner projects are now integrated and can managed by versiondog.

How to integrate new projects

1. Create a New component in the UserClient. When using portable devices, select DataMan as the component type. For stationary devices, select DataMan Fixed-mount in the Cognex directory.
2. Open the DataMan editor.
3. Create a new project and save it in the folder of the Cognex component that you just created.
4. Return to the Cognex component in the UserClient and select Create base version and Check-in.

The data of your Cognex DataMan Scanner projects are now integrated into versiondog and can managed by versiondog.
