KB-133053: Integrating projects

Integrating projects

Integrating existing projects

  1. Create a new component in the UserClient. Select Hirschmann in the Belden directory as the component type.
  2. In Windows Explorer, go to the folder where your Hirschmann Switch configuration is stored.
  3. Move the configuration into the working directory of the component.

Note

To do this, drag and drop the project data onto the component in the Project tree.

  1. In the Project tree of the UserClient, select the Hirschmann Switch component and select Create base version and Check-In.

Your Hirschmann Switch configuration is now integrated into versiondog and can be managed within versiondog.

How to integrate projects when project data isn’t available

You can still execute jobs and create backups for Hirschmann Switches, even if no project data has been checked in. Proceed as follows:

  1. Create a new component in the UserClient. Select Hirschmann in the Belden directory as the component type.
  2. In the Project tree of the UserClient, select the Hirschmann component and select Check-In without base version.
  3. Create and execute the job.
  4. Open the UserClient and go to the component. In the Jobs tab, select the backup that you want and select Copy backup to directory. Then copy the backup into the working directory.
  5. Create a base version.

Note

You can customize the Hirschmann component type in the AdminClient, Component type editor module.
