KB-133091: Creating jobs

Creating jobs

In versiondog, it is possible to execute jobs according to a schedule. You can use jobs to certify whether the program running on a device is the same as the most recently checked in version on the server.

Creating jobs for ABB Freelance projects

  1. Start the AdminClient and open the Jobs module.
  2. Select an ABB Freelance component in the Project tree.
  3. In the menu tab, click on Create or drag-and-drop the components into the Jobs area.
  4. Check if the upload type ABB Freelance is being displayed in the Job configuration area.
  5. Configure the general sections General, Notification, Upload and compare, Create a version automatically after job run. The Notification and Create a version automatically after job run sections are displayed only if the required settings have been made.
  6. Configure the section ABB Freelance settings.
  7. If a component contains multiple program files (*.pro), the project that you want to use can be selected. If only one program file is present in a component, this will be selected automatically.
  8. Access to the device is gained via the path PC->[TCP/IP]->SPS.
  9. Save the job and execute it.

Note

The job result (backup) is not suitable for disaster recovery.
