Installing parallel servers

Note

A Check-In to both servers is not possible whilst installing the parallel servers.

To install parallel servers, proceed as follows:

The two servers are hereinafter referred to as Server A and Server B.

  1. Stop the service VDogMasterService.exe on both servers (for example, Windows 7: Start -> Control Panel -> System and Security -> Management -> Services).
  2. On server A, carry out the following steps:
    1. Under...vdServerArchiveVD$XConfiguration, create a directory with the name 65538.
    2. Use any text editor to create a file named csc.ini in the created directory. Enter the following text into the file:
      1. [VDogAdminServer.exe]
    3. 4851=ParallelServerB
    4. [VDogOsServer.exe]
    5. 4851=ParallelServerB
    6. [VDogCheckInCheckOutServer.exe]
    7. 4851=ParallelServerB
    8. [VDogScheduler.exe]
    9. 4851=ParallelServerB
    10. [VDogReportingServer.exe]
    11. 4851=ParallelServerB
    12. [VDogApi.exe]
    13. 4851=ParallelServerB
    14. The entry ParallelServerB must be replaced by the computer name of Server B.
    15. Using a text editor, open the filevdServerArchiveVD$AConfigurationserver.iniand enter the following section and key:
      1. [ServerSynchronisation]
    16. 12650=Y
    17. Start the service VDogMasterService.
  3. Repeat the steps on Server B. In the csc.ini file, replace the ParallelServerB entry with the computer name of Server A.
  4. If project data already exists on one of the two servers, it must be synchronized using the application VDogParallelServerUtil.exe.
