Integrating projects
Integrating existing projects
If a project or a backup of the robot program is available, proceed as follows:
- Create a New component in the UserClient. Select ABB IRC5 in the ABB directory.
- In Windows Explorer, go to the folder where your ABB IRC5 project is stored.
- Move the project data to the working directory of the component in the Project tree using drag and drop.
- In the UserClient, select the ABB IRC5 component in the Project tree and click on Create base version and Check-In.
Your ABB IRC5 project is now integrated and can be managed within versiondog.
Creating new projects
If you have created a new project with the editor, proceed as follows:
- Create a New component in the UserClient. Select ABB IRC5 in the ABB directory.
- Start ABB RobotStudio.
- Create a new project and save it in the ABB IRC5 component you just created.
- In the UserClient, select the ABB IRC5 component in the Project tree and click on Create base version and Check-In.
Your ABB IRC5 project is now integrated and can be managed within versiondog.
Integrating projects when project data isn’t available
If no project data has been checked-in, you can still create a component that can be used to create a job.
The project data from the backup created during this job can then be versioned on the versiondog server.
Proceed as follows:
- Create a New component in the UserClient. Select ABB IRC5 in the ABB directory.
- In the Project tree of the UserClient, select the necessary component and click on Create base version and Check-In.
- Create and execute the job.
- Open the UserClient and go to the component. In the Jobs tab, select the backup that you want and click on Copy backup to directory. Then copy the backup into the working directory.
- Create a base version.
Note
The component type ABB IRC5 can be modified to suit your individual needs.
