Configuring email global settings

In the Global settings module in the Email tab, you can implement general settings that apply to all automated emails.

SMTP server settings

With a high probability the SMTP server settings were already entered when versiondog was set up in your company.

1. If no data should be registered, ask in your IT department for the following information:
   • IP or server name of the SMTP server, including port
   • Connection security
   • Authentication method
2. Enter the requested data in the appropriate fields or select the appropriate entries from the dropdown lists Connection security and Authentication method.
3. Click on Send test email to carry out a test.

Email settings

We recommend to enter a sender for the emails from the versiondog server here. This is because in many companies, emails without sender are moved to the spam folder. The email sending function also works without a sender.
