KB-133289: Creating jobs In-Sight FTP

Creating jobs In-Sight FTP

In versiondog, you have the option to execute jobs according to a schedule. These jobs check whether a program corresponds to the last checked-in version on the device or whether the newest version has been implemented on the device. It is also possible to use jobs to create a backup of a device.

Configuring jobs for Cognex In-Sight FTP projects in versiondog

  1. Start the AdminClient and open the Jobs module.
  2. Select your Cognex In-Sight component in the Project tree.
  3. In the menu tab, click on Create or drag-and-drop the components into the Jobs section.
  4. Check in the section Job configuration, if the upload type Cognex sensors is being displayed.
  5. Make sure the desired settings are in place for the following sections: General, Notification, Upload and compare, Create a version automatically after job run. The Notification and Create a version automatically after job run sections are only displayed if the necessary settings have been implemented.
  6. Configure the settings in the Cognex sensors section.
    1. From the drop down menu Type, select the device type In-Sight FTP.
    2. In Device, enter the IP address or name of the device.
    3. If you would like to use the FTP passive mode, you will need to check the necessary checkbox.
    4. In addition to this, fill in the fields User and Password with your login details as well.
    5. If you have images saved in the JPG and BMP format and want them to be included in the upload, check the checkbox With pictures.

The backup that you create is identical to the Cognex In-Sight project. You can use the result to carry out a comparison, further editing and disaster recovery.
