BECKHOFF TwinCAT V2: Configuring versiondog

Requirements that need to be met to work with BECKHOFF TwinCAT systems in a versiondog environment

  • You need to have access to a licensed BECKHOFF TwinCAT editor and connect it to your versiondog system.
  • If you want your versiondog server to execute all uploads, install all standard libraries in the following directory, located on the computer on which your versiondog is installed:C:TwinCATPlcLib.
  • If you want each IPC (industrial PC) to execute its own backups or create a backup without changing the AMS Network configuration, install an agent on each of these IPCs. The IPC needs to be restarted during the installation process.
  • To configure the AMS Net route for the upload, you need full access rights on the online device (IPC).

Ways of using TwinCAT V2 with versiondog

  1. The TwinCAT System Manager can be installed on the versiondog server. The versiondog server communicates directly with the IPC.
  2. You can use a versiondog agent to establish a connection to the IPC, on which the TwinCAT System Manager is installed.
