KB-133473: Installing the Image Service with the web installer

Installing the Image Service with the web installer

Note

If the Image Service cannot or should not be installed remotely, a web installer is available.

To enable the web installer, proceed as follows:

  1. Start the AdminClient and open the Jobs module.
  2. Click on Global job settings.
  3. The Upload type specific configuration dialog will open.
  4. In the navigation bar, go to Image Service.
  5. Go to the Web installer section and check the Enable web installer checkbox.

    2. The link http:/ /<computername>:64008 will be highlighted in blue.
  6. Confirm your changes by clicking on OK.

If the web installer is enabled, you can use it to install the Image Service on the device that you want to backup. For this, you will need to execute the link shown in the Web installer section either on the versiondog server or directly on the device you want to backup.

  1. The Setup Download Form page will be displayed in the browser.

Note

  1. On the website, you will also find instructions on how to use the Web installer.
  1. In the Computer name field, enter the name of the device that you want to save and then click on Download.
  2. Example:

  4. The files required for installing the Image Service are downloaded and made available as a ZIP file.
  5. If you have clicked on the link on the versiondog server, copy the ZIP file to the device you want to backup.
  6. Extract the ZIP file.
  7. Execute the application install.bat as administrator.

The Image Service will then be installed on the device.

Note

To update to a new version of the Image Service, you will need to carry out the steps listed above again.
