Types of monitor
The following section give a short overview of the monitor types in the Factory Floor Status of the versiondog system. For all monitor types, a condition is to be understood as a condition for a warning (State: Alarm ).
The following applies:
- Condition fulfilled → State: Alarm
- Condition not fulfilled → State: OK
The monitor types are
Job results:
Description: Supervises if a job of the device resulted in a success or an error
Supervised attributes: Does not supervise the attributes of a device but the compare results of the job
Warning condition: Warns in the case of one or more of the compare results is “Error” or “Different”. (If both compare results are “Equal” or “Not present”, then the monitor state is OK )
Configurability: not configurable
Devices supported: All
Backup age:
Description: Shows how old the latest backup is
Warning conditions: Warns if the backup is older than the age defined in the job configuration, in the AdminClient. If this function is disabled for the job, then the monitor will always be in OK state
Configurability: The configuration of this value is done in the job configuration, in the AdminClient. There is no possibility to configure another value in the configuration dialog of the monitors
Devices supported: All
Note
If the data is imported using a script, the backup value cannot be obtained. In this case, the monitor state is always unknown .
Cycle time:
Description: Supervises the length of the cycle time of the device
Supervised attributes: Makes a ratio between the longest measured cycle time and the cycle monitoring time
Warning condition: Warns if the longest measured cycle time higher is than a set percentage of the cycle monitoring time
Configurability: The percentage of the cycle monitoring time set as the warning limit can be configured in the configuration dialog of the monitors
Devices supported:
Siemens SIMATIC S7
Forced values:
Description: Supervises whether a device uses forced values or not
Supervised attributes:
All attributes showing if forced values are in use
Warning condition: Warns when at least one forced value was found
Configurability: not configurable
Devices supported:
- Siemens SIMATIC S7
- GE Proficy
- Schneider Unity
- RSLogix 5000
RAM use:
Description: Supervises the use of the RAM of a device
Supervised attributes: RAM
Warning condition: Warns when the RAM use is higher than a set value
Configurability: The limit value, over which a warning is issued, can be set in the configuration dialog of the monitors
Devices supported: Siemens SIMATIC S7
Battery:
Description: Supervises the charge of the battery
Supervised attributes: The S7 controller itself analyses the battery voltage and sends a boolean value. This value determines the monitor state
Warning condition: Warns when the battery charge is low
Configurability: not configurable
Devices supported: Siemens SIMATIC S7-300
Error display:
Description: Supervises the error display (LEDs) of the S7 CPU
Supervised attributes:
The following LEDs are supervised:
- SF
- INTF
- EXTF
Only the XML-attribute “Led_on” taken into consideration during the analyse; the “Led_blink” attribute is ignored for the determination of the monitor state
Warning condition: Warns when a LEDs sends an error
Configurability: not configurable
Devices supported: Siemens SIMATICÂ S7
