Integrating projects

To integrate an existing project into versiondog, proceed as follows

  1. Create a RSLogix 500 component (which you will find in the Rockwell directory) in your UserClient. !!! note

     The path is not allowed to contain any special characters. RSLogix only permits the usage of alphanumeric characters.
    
  2. Right-click on the selected component and then choose Edit in the context menu OR press Ctrl+E.

  3. Copy the RSS file (RSS is the file ending that is used by RSLogix 500 projects into the directory that you opened in step 2).
  4. In versiondog, open the file in your editor by pressing F4 or right clicking on Open with editor or click in the tab on Open with editor.
  5. The RSLogix 500 editor will open. When you make changes, save your data and then close the editor.
  6. **Click onCreate and Check-In the base version in the UserClient.**

You can now manage the project in versiondog.


To integrate an existing project into versiondog, proceed as follows

  1. Open the UserClient and create a new directory for the RSLogix 500 project. !!! note The path cannot contain any special characters. RSLogix allows only the use alphanumeric characters.

  2. Create a RSLogix500 component, which you will find in the Rockwell folder.

  3. Start the RSLogix 500 Professional Edition.
  4. Create a new project in RSLogix 500- Professional Edition (File -> New etc.) and save. !!! note Make sure that you save the project in your RSLogix 500 component.

  5. Close the RSLogix 500 Professional Edition.

  6. Click on Create and Check-In the base version.

Your new project can be managed in versiondog and you can start RSLogix 500 directly by pressing F4, right clicking on the component and then selecting Open with editor. Alternatively, click on Open with editor, located in the ribbon.

You can customize the component type RSLogix500.
